MAYOR'S LETTER - FEBRUARY 2016
Dear Neighbor:
As spring is on its way, hopefully, our snow season is over.
Anyway, since my last letter the Village had one of our DPW workers resign to join the NYPD. A replacement for him is in the works and I anticipate that the DPW will be at full strength within the next few months.
In our budget for the fiscal year commencing 3/1/16 we allocated funds to (a) build a shed on Vivian Lane off Melbourne Road and (b) renovate the fencing and drainage facilities at the tennis courts. These projects have not commenced yet due to the fact that we are awaiting the Governor's signature on two grants for the projects which will cover most of the expenses for said projects.
Finally, I am sure all of you are aware that Village tax bills were sent out to either the homeowners or your mortgage servicer. Please be advised that the responsibility to pay the Village taxes is always on the homeowner. If you have not received your village tax bill, contact Village Hall and a duplicate bill will be mailed or e-mailed to the homeowner. Tax payments are due by April 1, 2016. Pursuant to New York State Law the Village cannot waive late fees. Please pay on time.
Very truly yours,
Steven B. Kirschner
Mayor
